My dedication and passion for restoring the ‘spirit of place’ in gardens over two decades has enabled a skill base and expertise to work within a range of different settings in properties in southern England.
I believe that firstly it is essential to put your heart into everything you do and secondly to do what you are good at and are passionate about. I am interested in building heritage and all its components and in particular creating gardens. This drive has been motivated by the deep fulfilment from witnessing the re-emergence of a place, structure or garden landscape to its former glory.
The repair or reinstatement of period features in your garden will strengthen the character of your home.
The process of restoring creates limitless possibilities and life affirming benefits. There is something quite magical about bringing life and personality back to a garden!
I see my role as being an advocate for the garden landscape I am working in. At Flower & Flint, we work closely with selected craftspeople who use traditional methods of construction and appropriate materials that enhance older gardens. The importance of using materials that work well with the local vernacular can never be understated. Creative flair, imagination and attention to detail make garden spaces special, artistic, beautiful and uplifting!
Good design demands proficient understanding of how hard and soft landscaping work together in a harmonious and attractive way.
